May 4. NCSL Div 2. 7th league game vs Damascus Dynamos

On a wretched uncut home field, the Tigers struggled to play any kind of soccer on a day when kick and rush was about all that was possible. A fortunate own goal after a fine run by Max Salzman was the only goal of the game, won 1-0 by the Tigers

May 3 2008. NCSL Div 2. 6th league game vs McLean Fire Green

Despite missing some players, the Tigers played well enough to defeat McLean 3-2. In the first half, the Tigers were completely dominant, and missed several chances before JM Charpentier struck with a stunning blast from the edge of the box. Soon after, Fernando Moreira controlled a poor punt from McLean, and drove a volley 30 yards past the out-of-position keeper. Max Salzman completed first half scoring with a fine left-footed finish from the edge of the box at the end of a good Tigers move. The second half was different. Playing down hill, McLean pressed hard, and soon pulled one back. With about 10 minutes to go, they scored again, and it took good defense in particular from Maxim Scribner, Mikey Gaster, and goalie Ross Cohen-Kristiansen to save the match for the Tigers.

I I eat football

I sleep football

I breathe football.

I'm not mad, just passionate.

April 27 2008. NCSL Div. 2. 5th league game vs. SYA Ajax

On a cool afternoon, the Tigers produced their best game of the season to defeat Ajax 5-2, reversing a loss in the pre-season Ice-Breaker. The Tigers pressured early, and Max Salzman scored with a terrific volley from Fernando Moreira's pass. JM Charpentier doubled the lead before half time with a mazy dribble and cool finish. After the break, Ajax came back strongly to score once and threaten several times, being denied by fine defense from Mikey Gaster and Thomas Bernhardt-Lanier, who stifled Ajax's best player throughout the game.  The Tigers then responded with goals from Graham Baird, JM Charpentier, and Bernhardt-Lanier before conceding a consolation goal in injury time.

April 26 2008. NCSL Div 2. 4th league game vs. Free State Diplomats.

The Tigers won a tight game 2-0. On a hot day with limited subs, the Tigers dominated the first half and should have been further ahead at the break, leading only through JM Charpentier's brilliant dribble and left footed finish. The Diplomats  came back strongly after half time, now playing down hill, and it took sterling work from goalie Ross Cohen-Kristiansen and man-of-the-match Alex LaNoire to keep them out. The Tigers finally iced the game with a fine shot from Alonzo Bailey, on an assist from LaNoire.

April 20 2008. NCSL Div 2. 3rd league game vs. Screaming Eagles

The Tigers' bright start to the season continued with a convincing 3-0 win away at the SSA Screaming Eagles, despite playing with zero subs on a hot day. Graham Baird started the scoring direct from a corner kick, Alex LaNoire converted a first half PK earned by John-Marc's fine run into the box, and JM completed the scoring in the second half with a good finish from a fine pass from Fernando Moreira.

April 13 2008. NCSL Div 2. 2nd league game vs LMVS away.

The Tigers’ season continued with a thrilling 4-3 away win against LMVS Patriots, with a break-away goal in the last minute on a long run from John-Marc Charpentier, his second of the game. Down 0-3 after only 15 minutes, the Patriots stormed back to tie 3-3, before the Tigers’ late winner.

After a close first half, the Tigers broke the game open early in the second half to lead 5-1, before conceding two late goals.
